ZIM Accelerates Global Launch of Smart Containers with Hoopo’s Assistance

The company is enhancing container visibility and transparency through the integration of Hoopo’s innovative hoopoSense Solar Trackers. Eli Glickman, CEO and President of ZIM, stated: “This accelerated deployment strengthens ZIM’s position as an industry leader in technology and innovation.”

ZIM announced that it is speeding up the global rollout of smart containers, helping to boost visibility and transparency by incorporating Hoopo’s advanced hoopoSense Solar Trackers.

ZIM’s smart container solution enables end-to-end tracking, including the inland leg, providing customers with complete shipment transparency and a more accurate ETA, even after containers leave terminals or warehouses en route to their final destination.

The hoopoSense Solar Tracker boasts a battery life of over 12 years, enough to last the entire lifecycle of a container and eliminating the need for replacements. Each tracker is designed to deliver precise location data and includes a built-in door opening detection system with 99% accuracy. Additionally, the tracker meets ATEX-1 standards for secure products, making it suitable for LNG vessels and diverse marine environments.

Unlike traditional trackers that require additional door sensors, draining battery life and increasing device and installation costs, Hoopo’s all-in-one tracker enables quick deployment and reduces the risk of future malfunctions related to add-on devices. This solution provides ZIM and its customers with the most reliable and cost-effective tracking method on the market.

Eli Glickman, President and CEO of ZIM, stated: “The global rollout of Hoopo’s technology is revolutionizing container visibility. Our smart container services provide our customers with critical real-time data, enabling better decision-making across their entire supply chain and reducing risk while cargo is in transit. With Hoopo’s integrated door sensors, ZIM offers unmatched container tracking visibility within the industry. This accelerated deployment strengthens ZIM’s position as an industry leader in technology and innovation, delivering cutting-edge solutions to our customers.”

Itay Hayut, CEO and Co-Founder of Hoopo, commented: “Our advanced door opening detection system represents a major breakthrough. This proprietary solution by Hoopo integrates multiple sensors with sophisticated algorithms to achieve unmatched accuracy and reliability. Alongside a unique solar panel and tracking technology, our devices offer over 12 years of battery life – a game-changer for large-scale deployments across shipping line fleets. This technology provides our customers with a distinct competitive advantage, delivering secure, transparent, and reliable service while optimizing logistics operations.”

The company added, “With real-time visibility and enhanced security, ZIM and Hoopo are ushering in a new era of smart, connected containers.”
